The US-A-Biz Awards, or “WirtschaftsOskars,” are granted every year to recognize outstanding achievements by Austrian companies in the highly competitive U.S. market. This year’s winners, picked by a jury together with the Austrian Trade Commission in Los Angeles are Mostly AI, Wintersteiger, MIBA, KTM, Pankl Racing and arx anima.

U.S. President Trump Receives New Austrian Ambassador

On January 6, 2020, career diplomat Martin Weiss was officially installed as the Austrian Ambassador to the United States of America. Although Ambassador Weiss arrived in Washington, D.C., last November, he could not formally represent our nation, until his credentials, in the form of a sealed letter from the Federal President of the Republic of Austria, were accepted by the U.S. President. This credentialing ceremony in the Oval Office of the White House marked the beginning of his official tenure in the United States.

Vienna City Councillor Peter Hanke in Los Angeles and the Bay Area

Consul General Andreas Launer welcomed Vienna City Councillor Peter Hanke at the head of a high-raking delegation to California from November 4 to 9, 2019. Hanke, whose portfolio includes finance, business, digitalization and international affairs, travelled to Los Angeles and the Bay Area for meetings with representatives of the media and tech sectors as well as with scholars at Stanford University.
