The Austrian Federal Minister of the Interior, Wolfgang Sobotka, visited Washington, DC from May 2 to 3, 2017, where he held bilateral meetings with U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions and U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security John Kelly to discuss the fight against terrorism, illegal immigration, and cybersecurity. 

Austrian Minister of Finance,  Hans Joerg Schelling,  and Austrian Central Bank Governor Ewald Nowotny, represented Austria at the 2017 Spring Meetings of the World Bank Group and the International Monetary Fund, which took place on April 21-23, 2017.

On March 22, 2017, U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson hosted members of the "Global Coalition to defeat ISIS" at the State Department in Washington, DC. Foreign Minister Sebastian Kurz represented Austria at this partners' meeting to review and accelerate the campaign for the lasting defeat of ISIS.

Today, 200 Special Olympics USA athletes travel to Austria for the 2017 Special Olympics World Winter Games. The Games will run from March 14- 25 in Graz, Schladming, and Ramsau in the state of Styria.

Following his official visit to Washington, DC, Austrian Federal Minister of Justice Wolfgang Brandstetter stopped by in Connecticut to pay a visit to the 93-year-old film producer Eric Pleskow and then travelled to Los Angeles to meet the 96-year-old exile composer Walter Arlen at the residence of Austrian Consul General Ulrike Ritzinger 

Austrian Minister of Justice, Professor Wolfgang Brandstetter visited Washington, DC from February 1st to 3rd, 2017.

Accompanied by Ambassador Wolfgang Waldner, he met the present chair of the Helsinki-Commission of Congress, Congressmen Chris Smith, as well as Senator Chuck Grassley, the chairman of the Senate Judicial Committee.
